Waiting For Superman
We watch the movie, "waiting for superman" in class. I thought it was a very interesting and very well done movie. I grew up in a middle class family in a small town so I had know idea that there were kids out there that had their whole future placed into a lottery. It was sad to see that alot of the people in the teaching world seem not to care so much about the kids, but more about themselves. The movie showed many of the flaws in the American education system. I think that we should modify the teacher tenure, because obviously there are may flaws in it that are greatly effecting the children in America. We should, however, not get rid of it completly, because it does help protect the teacher if they were to be sued by someone. But I do not think that a tenure should be able to give a teacher a perminate position. A teacher that is doing bad should be able to get fired because they are not only hurting the schools scores but they are also hurting the students. Like the movie showed, it should be more about the studens and less about the adults.
